The Position

FIS-mFoundry is seeking a Technical Lead to work with our Product Development team. The ideal candidate would be a seasoned Java engineer willing and able to lead a development team through all phases of the software development cycle.

Responsibilities:

• Provide accurate work estimates for proposed projects
• Participate in product planning, balancing effort, risk and reward of various solutions
• Organize and balance work load across a team of developers
• Mentor and cross-train other Java developers
• Solve problems and present creative solutions to teams
• Be an “expert” for technical aspects of the product
• Develop and maintain mFoundry mobile and server applications to meet the needs of our customers
• Develop Java Enterprise Edition server components
• Develop mobile application user interfaces 
• Develop browser-based user interfaces using HTML, CSS and AJAX
• Develop and execute unit tests for product components
• Develop and maintain tools and utilities that assist in testing, deploying and supporting customer implementations
• Work with all groups within mFoundry to ensure high quality of delivered product

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical requirements
• Must have a passion for working with and developing engineering teams
• Able to stand up and drive discussions; take ownership and facilitate design meetings, set direction and ensure tasks are complete
• Experience leading remote or offshore resources an asset
• Proven skills as a technical expert and team leader in Java and J2EE technology solutions
• Advanced understanding of Object Oriented Design and Design Patterns
• Experience with mobile platforms such as iPhone and Android
• Able to rapidly pick up new concepts; self-motivated and willing to learn new technologies
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
